Rita's Rita-rded World

MD Annual Christmas Tree 2010

From September 28 to October 8 2012, I worked solely on this project.

“The fifth in Mirabilia’s annual Christmas Trees, this glimmering icy blue and white tree shimmers in green and teal.”

Materials include:

4 skeins of Crescent Colors Belle Soie,

3 packs of MH glass beads,

3 packs of MH treasure (the snowflakes), and matching DMC cotton floss for beading.

32ct Ocean Kiss Linen from Wichelt.

A comparison between the Crescent Colors Belle Soie et DMC cotton floss

September 29: Variegated silk is difficult to deal with. They gets twisted and frizzy easily; they are not colorfast, thus can’t be washed. You have to work fast and work with care…

September 30: more variegated silk.

October 1: I stopped after stitching some white silk. I decided to leave them for the last, for they get dusty easily. And you can’t wash them…

October 2: let the beading begin.

October 3: I got very excited, after beading more and more of those petite blue beads. Beautiful!!

October 6: Almost there….
